The Load Up Membership
You can get stronger in your 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Do you feel like you’ve tried everything and you’re not seeing the results you desire? You’re in the right place.
The research is in!
Women need to be strength training:
women naturally lose 3-8% of muscle per decade after 30 y/o
strength training reduces menopausal symptoms by up to 43.6% (hot flashes, bone density, hormonal balance)
increased lean muscle mass, improved estradiol and growth hormone levels, reduced blood pressure, better insulin sensitivity
improvements in pelvic floor health- less leaking, improved PF strength and coordination
increased capability, confidence, and quality of life in later years
Does this sound familiar?
I know I’m ‘supposed’ to be lifting weights, but where do I start? How much? How often? How heavy is heavy enough?
No matter how focused I am on healthy food and daily movement, my clothes are tight fitting and I feel uncomfortable in my body.
I’ve tried group fitness classes and felt trashed after, then it was hard to get motivated to go back.
Am I busier than most people? I can’t seem to find time to fit in workouts between work and home responsibilities.
I run or play tennis a few times each week, but adding strength training doesn’t sound fun
I’m worried I’ll get hurt. I’m worried that I will get too bulky.
You are NOT alone.
What if you could:
Enjoy a consistent and manageable workout ready for you to execute 2-3x/week
Focus your training on strength and power, to actually make a difference in your life. No more 45 minute burners with mountain climbers and burpees.
See strength improvements and body composition changes. Move those bags of mulch by yourself, and see some shoulder definition while doing it.
Confidently carve out in your schedule because you know how long it will take and it’s ready for you as soon as you arrive at the gym
Does it really work?
In the most recent cohort,
THREE women got their first ever pull up by the 12 week check point!
Well, hello and welcome to Lift the Load!
This has been about a decade in the making. After college athletics, then CrossFit, then Olympics lifting, I realized that none of it exactly hit the mark for what I was looking for in a program. I desired a focus on strength and hypertrophy (muscle growth) and did not want to perform a bicep curl while in a squat or countless mountain climbers. So I began dabbling in trying out different strength cycles on myself.
At the same time, while working as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I continued to see repetitive injuries and pain in active adults. Many times, it turned out to be overuse or stress injuries from programs that made no sense. The programs/classes either had no goal, or the program itself didn’t align with the goal. Often folks were wanting to ‘get stronger’, then completing a program that was light weights for 3 sets of 10-20 reps. This does not compute.
So I started creating training programs for patients once they graduated rehab. But over the past decade, that has morphed into straight up strength and hypertrophy training programs for women ages 30-70 y/o of all training backgrounds. I’m able to combine my science knowledge and education in Physical Therapy with specific training in orthopedics & women’s health, with my love for weights.
Many of my current programming clients have been with me for 3+ years. It’s a testament to the smart, progressive nature of the program, and their commitment to the long-game of strength for life.
The Load Up Membership is the scaffolding for the longevity and gains you desire, but it takes consistent effort. You’ll hear me say it often, “consistency over perfection”. And if you’re like me, being a ‘perfectionist’ is sort of your MO. But we are changing that here, friends.
